Spread the love

Happy Valentines day!

There is never enough love to share in the world. You should  spread the love everyday, but just in case you dont remember the rest of the year, there is always today! Give your family hugs and kisses and tell them all that you love them. You just might make their day. Look at the chocolate my mom got me for valentines day. They are very yummy and delicious! Want one?

Senior Citizen Barbie – Where is Ken?

The other night I was walking down the sidewalk in the freezing cold and in the distance I saw a little pink dot coming towards me. It slowly came closer and closer until I realized it was…Barbie! She seemed lost and confused but she wouldnt let anything or anyone stop her. Puffing her cigarette and zooming along with her styling walker she was bound to get where she was going. I offered to let her rest at my house for awhile but she denied any help. Watching her go off in the distance I knew she was looking for her hubby Ken. If you find him please send him back to Barbie Dream Nursing Home where she will be waiting for his return.

Fourth of July Parade

Yesterday marked the hundredth year of celebration of fourth of July in my town. That is why we had the parade yesterday instead of the actual day. I accomplished my assignment and I am very proud of myself. I set my alarm to wake up, got up and ready, grabbed my camera and walked over to where the parade would be. It was in the high ninety’s and the sun was shining high but it was worth it. Even though it was boiling out people still had great spirit for the holiday. I took over three hundred photos of the parade and kept around a hundred of them. Here are a few of them. Enjoy the parade!

Happy 4th!

Happy fourth of July or Independence day. Whichever one you like to call it. There may be a few things I dislike about this country but that does not mean I do not love it. There is so much to love about the USA. I think its stunning what this country has and does. Look at the hundreds of different cultures we have here. The many different lifestyles, religions and everything else. I think the most wonderful thing is people have a chance to live up to their dreams. Some call it the American dream but I dont like calling it that. To me that is too specific to one type of dream. I am talking about all dreams. The ones you dream at night and daydream during the day. They can be accomplished here.

Marvelous Mothers

I want to wish all the mothers out there a Happy Mothers Day. This day may only come once a year but we should really celebrate it everyday. Mothers are some of the strongest and bravest women in the world. I know because my mother is one of them. She adopted me without knowing that I would be a psycho child. Then raised me to understand myself better. She filled me with love and that to me makes the perfect mother. If it wasnt for her I wouldnt be where I am today. Thank you mom! So, to all the mothers out there. Be proud of yourselves because the strength you have is something we wish we all had. The things you do are marvelous. Hope you all had a nice love filled mothers day and dont forget to celebrate it everyday.

Easter – Jesus Has Risen!

The sun was shining high in the sky for the rebirth of Jesus. Okay, that sounds really religious but I do not usually bring up religion. Its like politics. Just one of those subjects that will cause drama because everyone has their own view and tries to convince people to agree with them. Plus, we all know how I feel about drama. Yuck! But, I am going to explain my views a little bit.

Let me share something. I am not a real religious person. I do not go to church and I am not a person who will tell you God will save you. That does not mean I do not believe in God and Jesus. I am a believer and a proud Catholic but I am not one to hate if you are not. Dislike someone because of their religion? To me that is wrong. So what if they have different religious views. Everyone has differences and that is what makes people unique and special.

You know how most people like one person in their faith the most? Like, a lot of people will pray to one person? I am a Jesus lover. Woot. Go Jesus Go! I dont know why. Maybe its because my favorite musical is Jesus Christ Superstar. I know that whole movie. Hehe. I use to act it out. You must see it if you havent! Oh, also Ted Neeley is Jesus. My Jesus! I mean that is what Jesus looks like in my eyes and he played Jesus in the musical. Surprisingly, if I do pray I do not pray to Jesus. I pray to God. God is who I go to but Jesus symbolizes my faith. By the way, no one can convince me to change my views. So, if you have a desire to try go ahead. Its not going to work on me. I mean I will do another post down the road more into my views and what I believe and what I dont. So, we can discuss it then.

Easter was lovely. My mom and I brought Grandma over for the day. She is doing well which is a blessing. She has her interesting stories but at least she is not hitting people with her walker or trying to escape. We had fresh ravioli for dunch or linner whichever you want to call it. They were yummy and filling. You know what was sweet? Grandma asked to clean the dishes after we ate. Well, she always does but we always say no. I dont think its the best thing for her to stand that long. Plus, the dishes are china and she might drop one accidently. Its moms job to clean the china dishes because if I chipped or dropped one she would kick me out. Hehe. She would not but she might have steam coming out of her ears.

After we dropped off grandma back at the assistant living I took the drivers seat in the car and took mom for a spin. Not literally! But, it was a perfect day to practice driving. Easter Sunday. No stores are open and the streets were pretty empty. The way I like them but hard to get in a busy suburb like this. I was calm and did well. I even passed a bicycler without freaking out. Yay!

So, my Easter Sunday was great. Had great bonding time with family, yummy food and a good driving experience. Three things to make a perfect day. Tomorrow is Monday but I am not complaining. Why? Because I have Spring break tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday so I am happy. Woot! I hope you all had a lovely Easter if you celebrate it. If not I hope you had a great fun filled Sunday.

Valentines Day is for Everyone!

Ever feel like your left out during Valentines Day because you do not have a boyfriend or girlfriend? No husband? Let me tell you something. You do not need one to celebrate.  That whole look on this day is not right. It can cause a lot of sadness on a day that you should be happy and feel loved. You have other family members and friends to celebrate with. You are loved.

I had a lovely valentines day. You know who I spent mine with? A lady I love so much. She has my heart. I spent my day with my mom. We went driving around the country together listening to music. Taking photos and having laughs together. That to me was a great Valentines Day. So, I hope everyone had a lovely day and you are loved. Believe it! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Remembering 2009

Its time to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010. Even though 2009 is coming to a close there are events that will never be forgotten. Every year has its ups and downs but its the up parts that are worth remembering. I thought I would share and refresh your memory of some of the grand events of the year of 2009.

One memory of 2009 is turning 18 years old. The one age all teenagers seem to be so excited for. Why? I have a few ideas. It is considered the age of maturity and being a grown up. Except one thing. Age is just a number and it is not who you are. Another reason is because it is the legal age that we teens can move out from our parents and be free. I told myself I would end up doing that when I am 18 but did not happen and I have no regrets. Living on your own at such a young age is way too hard so I am thankful to be with my mom.

Another memory which was very exciting was becoming a senior in high school. The last year of school I have to do. Unless I decide to go to college or something but its the last I got to be stuck in torture. That leads to the main reason why I am excited for 2010. Graduation!!!

There is one memory that is my all time favorite of 2009. Do you think you know what it is? If you have read my blog for a long time you should know or maybe know. It has to be Callie. Having her part of the family is the greatest memory of the year. She is full of life and just a joy to have. I am glad I fell in love with her and scooped her up into my arms.

I hope you all have a lovely and fun new year and make a lot of great memories in 2010. Celebrate and shoot those fireworks high in the sky. Bye bye 2009 and hello 2010!

Memories of Christmas

Waking up this morning I walked downstairs with one hand carrying the three gifts for my mom and the other hand carrying Callie. I always love Christmas morning. Just the wonderful thought in your head of giving and receiving makes my heart pound. I always wonder if my mom will like what I get her. Will she be pleased or disappointed. The thing is she is always happy and always tells me that it was thoughtful and its the thought that counts.

My mom loved her gifts this year. Put lots of smiles on her face. So, what did I get her? I got her this coupon book that has different things to make mom happy. For example, go to a movie together or clean your room. the second gift I got her was a calendar. She asked for it and I got it for her. Santa listened. The last and best gift is a painted cow that I knew she would love. There are huge painted cows in New York City that my mom always loved and wish she could have. So, I decided I would get her a little one painted with a garden scene. She loves it. Cant stop admiring it. I am happy about that because it was difficult choosing which one to get her. I wanted something she would love and I chose the perfect one.

Look I got a mustang for Christmas! Okay okay. It is not a real one but it is still awesome. It works for me for now. Makes me work on my dream to get one some day when I have the money. The dogs had some fun chasing it. So everyone meet my mustang sally.

Another thing my wonderful mother got me was a grooming table! I am so excited about it too. It means grooming the dogs will be so much easier. The pack wasnt so happy about it though. They gave me an evil look. Haha! Now you dogs cant run away from me while I am grooming you. I have to thank Princess for putting up with me while I was taking photos of her on my new grooming table. As you can see she was not pleased about the whole situation.

My last favorite thoughtful gift my mom gave me was a little camera backpack. The perfect gift for a photographer who likes walking and bicycling long distances and taking lots of photos. It will help me get a more variety of photographs. Thanks mom for believing that I could be successful in photography profession some day. Your the best.

Overall, it was a lovely Christmas. My Grandma came over and we had wonderful food. At least to me it was great. For an appetizer we had shrimp cocktail and then for the main course meal we had ravioli! It was delicious. I always love Christmas. Just a lovely thoughtful family holiday. I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and had a joyful fun day. I am tired and goint to get some sleep soon. Peace.

Christmas Eve Plus A Birthday

We just dont celebrate Christmas Eve today in my family. Today is also my Grandpas birthday. Even though he passed away a few years ago he is never forgotten. We may not be partying down here but I bet he is partying up in heaven. Telling his jokes to everyone and eating cake. My Grandpa was my father figure to me and he was the sweetest guy in the entire world. Happy Birthday Grampa. By the way, the photo above is my grandpa and I.

So, today I wrapped the three Christmas presents I got my mother. Took me a long time since I cant wrap. I forgot how to partially but I tried my best. Callie had fun getting in my way and playing with the wrapping paper. Silly cat. Anyways, I hope she will like the three gifts. I think she will. Its really the thought that counts. Cant show you the gifts yet but I will tomorrow. Keep patient. Santa will deliver them soon.

Yes, the dogs and the cat have gifts for Christmas too. They are part of the family so of course they are on the gift list. The dogs are lucky I did not find any cute clothes that I wanted for them this year. Hehe. This year the dogs are getting some treats and toys. For Callie’s first Christmas with us she is getting little toy mice to bat around. Sorry Callie no real mice allowed in my room.

I took these two photos of the dogs today. Well, I took a set but I thought I would just share two and these are the two favorites of mine. I was thinking how we needed some pack portrait. So, here are two Christmas portraits of my pack. Amazingly they all stayed still and cooperated. What do you think of them?

Before you know it Christmas will be here. So, I will wish everyone an early Christmas just in case you wont be around tomorrow. My grandma is coming over for Christmas, which will be nice. Its always great to have the family together. Hope everyone has a joyful Christmas and has fun. I will talk to you all soon and will post my Christmas day adventure tomorrow night. Ho Ho Ho! Merry Early Christmas.
