We had a huge storm all Saturday that consisted of lots of rain and really bad wind. Branches falling and trees coming down in certain areas. Mom and I did not leave the house in that weather. The lights were flickering all day long and I was so hoping that we would not lose power. My hoping did not work. Around seven-thirty at night the power went out. Which is not unusual with storms here but it does usually come back on in a few hours. Except when I woke up in the morning it was still off. The thing is it was not just our neighborhood who lost power. About everyone in our county lost it. Now that’s a lot of people! I was not so thrilled when my mom told me it might not be fixed until Tuesday but Sunday turned out to be a fun day. I had good bonding time with my mom. My mom and I drove around seeing the trees down and we ate dinner by candle light. We talked all day long so it was well worth losing the power. It takes you out of your usual routine which can be pretty nice and relaxing. The power did come back on Sunday night around eleven. It was fun when it lasted but it is great to have the power back on.
I read about the storms there, sounded bad. It seems you two were prepared so it went well for you, glad you enjoyed the enforced change of routine. Have a great week! Sal
Your photo is a great way to illustrate this topic! Glad you survived 28 hours without the internet. Luv, m o m
Good to hear you both spent the 28 hours having some together time, make the most of those days!
The storm was huge in NYC. Lots of trees downs and thousands without power. The wind had the strength of a cat 1 hurricane!
