Isn’t Time Square in New York City amazing? All the lights, action and people. I am thankful to live near the greatest city in the world. I may not be a city gal but I do believe everyone should visit NYC at least once in their life. Anyways, my mom and I went into the city Sunday afternoon to meet up with some friends of hers that she hasn’t seen in a long time. It was nice that my mom invited me along. A lot of teenagers may not like hanging out with their mom and their friends but I love it. I get a long better with older people and I always have. Maybe its because they have lived longer and have more knowledge.
My mom and I left for the city early to make sure we wouldn’t be late if their was traffic. We only live about an hour away from New York City but with traffic it can take much longer to get in. Anyways, there was no traffic. So, when we got there we had some time to kill. You know what we did? We went into the huge Toys R Us and wow that place was sure crowded. It was probably extra crowded because it was raining.
Isnt this lego Statue of Liberty cool? I love legos. I dont have them anymore but they were always fun to play with and build anything my mind could think of. I love looking at huge lego art. Its just amazing. Just think of the time and effort it takes to make one.
Look at this barbie house in Toys R Us! You know whats in it? All the different kinds of barbies! From a Harley Davidson barbie to a fashion barbie. They even had Toy Story 3 barbie. Sad thing is they didn’t have Ken from Toy Story 3. They probably all sold out since he is so styling.
We met up with my mom’s friends at this restaurant that was nice. I had a cheeseburger. You may wonder I did not try something more unique. Its because I was starving and wanted to make sure I would like what I got. It was yummy. I sat there eating while listening to the interesting conversations that came up. A nice way to spend a Sunday night.
After we ate we walked around Time Square for a little because I never experienced the night life there. We might have drove by Time Square at night but I cant really remember. It was very cool. Especially, from a suburban Jersey girl where the night life dies a little after dark. Which I am not complaining since I am not a fan of the dark anyways.
Probably, the only thing I did not like about Time Square is the amount of people. It is crazy! Especially, the ones that just walk slowly because I am a pretty fast walker. Get out of my way! It would make a great place to just stand in one place and take photos of all the different people walking by.
Its funny. There are bright lights and signs everywhere except on this board. Its a lonely board waiting to be filled with something. My mom found it very interesting. She liked it. I wonder if she would like a photo of her on there. Hehe. She would kill me if I did that.
While we were walking through Time Square there were tons of Firefighters there. It seemed like every firefighter truck in New York City was there. When I got home I looked up what happened. There was some kind of huge hazardous fluid spill in a skyscraper. As you can see Dora the Explorer was worried about what was going on.
The night life of Time Square was a fun adventure. I am happy though to be home. You can take the girl out of New Jersey but you cant take the New Jersey out of the girl. I know a lot of people who love New York City and want to move there. I love New York City but I never want to live there. Just not my style of life. The suburban to country life fits me better. Though I do like visiting a city once in awhile. I especially enjoy visiting NYC every now and then.

I really enjoyed this post, and the pictures you put up were really fun to see. What a fun day & evening. I’d have loved to have been there! Like you, I wouldn’t want to live in the city, but I love being near enough to a big city that I can be there with a pretty short drive (in my case it’s L.A.). Thanks for sharing your NYC experience with us!
