Happy fourth of July or Independence day. Whichever one you like to call it. There may be a few things I dislike about this country but that does not mean I do not love it. There is so much to love about the USA. I think its stunning what this country has and does. Look at the hundreds of different cultures we have here. The many different lifestyles, religions and everything else. I think the most wonderful thing is people have a chance to live up to their dreams. Some call it the American dream but I dont like calling it that. To me that is too specific to one type of dream. I am talking about all dreams. The ones you dream at night and daydream during the day. They can be accomplished here.
I am grateful to be an American. Being able to be on this land is just a blessing itself. My blood may be Russian but my heart, mind and soul is American. My biggest wish to everyone who wants to come to America is that you accomplish that dream and walk on this land with me. I know the thousands of material stuff like cars, clothes, houses, etc is incredible but the people are really what this country is all about. The pride and love the people have for the USA is amazing. I may not be a fan of war but that does not mean I do not support our soldiers. The men and women who fight and die for our country must be remembered because their bravery is a lot more than most of us carry with us. This land is your land and this land is my land and we wont let it disapear.
There were some fireworks here and there but our town did not celebrate fourth of July. At least not yet. We are celebrating tomorrow because tomorrow is the one hundredth year of celebration in this town. Something like that. Very cool. We are having our usual fourth of July parade and fireworks which will be cool. I havent been to the parade for a long time since its kinda the same thing over and over again. But I might go tomorrow and take some photographs of it. I thought it would be a good assignment. I am not sure if I am going to go to the fireworks. I might be able to see it if I just walk to the top of my street. That could be fun though. Firework photography. Maybe I will try it.
