Our Sick Society

. I came across an article yesterday about how the facebook group, ‘Praying’ For President Obama’s Death hits one million members. What! That pisses me off and is just sick. Disturbing! You may not like someone but wanting them dead is wrong. I know some people who hate somebody and wish they just got hit by a car or something. Let me tell you. I may dislike people but to me it is wrong to ever wish someone to be dead. Everyone deserves to live. I did not like Bush but I never wanted him dead. That is just not right and it crosses the line.

Animal Career Future

So, I think I did pretty good on my written small animal care final. I am not too worried since I felt pretty confident with it. A lot of it was common sense for a knowledgeable animal lover and owner like myself. The next part of the final is in a few weeks and thats the hands on part where we groom a dog. Thats the part that kind of scares me more. A lot of perfection needed but I am pretty good at bathing, shave downs and rounding feet. Just can be difficult at times because every dog breed gets a different type of grooming and haircut. It can be hard but grooming has an artsy side to it.

Callie Still Intact

So, Callie the cat was suppose to get spayed Friday but that is on hold for now. We could not find her papers that said she got her rabies shot so we are waiting for them to send it to us. Also, she needs her distemper vaccine before they will spay her. But she will get spayed soon. Hopefully, before her first heat cycle comes along. I dont need her rolling, screaming or spraying all over my room.

Senioritis Is On The Rise

As the last quarter of the school year begins the seniors are starting to get antsy. The time seniors start to procrastinate more and less motivated. Funny thing is I was more like that last quarter. This quarter I want to do well because it is the very last chance that I can. Plus, all of my big tests are soon. In my technical school that I go to in the afternoon, I have my small animal care test on Monday. It is going to be a hundred multiple choice questions and I am studying for it (amazing). Woot! To me that is the most important test to pass since its my passion and love.

The days feel longer and longer but graduation is just around the corner. In my main school that I go to in the morning, all the seniors got their height measured for graduation. I wonder how many guys are close to my height in my grade. I know there are a lot of tall guys but there are also a few shorties. Hehe. Interesting thing is I am not the shortest one in my grade! Anyways, I am going to relax and then get some sleep in a little since school is still in session. I hope everyone is having a nice week and look! The week is almost over already. Peace.

My Best Friend Has Four Legs

First off, she is a dog. A fluffy chunkalicious dog. I know there are people out there who will not understand how a dog can be my best friend and more than just a best friend. Dont worry this post is dedicated to her and I will explain why she is so special to me. Than if anyone feels like arguing with me about it you can but its not a subject you can get me to change about. I also know there are a lot of people who will understand how she is my best friend. Its easy for you if you feel the same way about your dog, cat, horse, bird, lizard, fish and any other animal you have. The connection between a dog and its owner can be as strong as between two people. It can even be stronger.

The photo revealed!

I have decided on the photo I am going to enter in to the town photo contest. As you can see from the photo above, I did keep score just like I said I would. I have to thank all of you for your votes and opinions. I had fun reading them and it helped me to decide on the perfect photo. So many great photos but only one could be entered and I chose…

#7 (hand of remembrance), because it represents my town the most. All the photos are winners to me but this one is the best for this contest. I know #1 is one of my best photos ever, but you can really find a flower anywhere. Also, you all know how much I love my dog photography and how my dogs are all winners but that really does not represent my town. I mean it does to me but no one else would understand that. So, my pooches will have to wait and win other photo contests.

I really think the photo, hand of remembrance, is a winner. I am also using that title since it is catchy and good. Dont you agree? I am excited. Photography contests are fun. I need more of them! Anyways, I will email it in tomorrow and wait until I hear the results. Then, I will let you all know. Patience! Good thing I have some. Hehe. I hope everyone had a nice Saturday and I hope Sunday goes well for you. Hope to talk to you all soon. Hugs.

Doggie Dogwood

Trees are so magnificent. Tall, strong and beautiful all at the same time. This earth would not be the same without them. I like trees but let me tell you my mom loves trees. She could never live in a place with no trees. I think she would go crazy. Hehe. What is your favorite type of tree? Mine are dogwood trees but weeping willows are right behind. The photo above is the dogwood tree in our front yard. As you can see it blooms wonderful pink flowers in the spring time. I guess dogwoods are also my favorite because look what word it has in it. Dog!

Oh, did I tell you I taught Oliver a new trick?! Well, I did. Guess which one. Rollover. He is so smart! Let me tell you. It only took me, with pupperoni in my hand and a happy attitude to get him to accomplish it. He learned it in just a few minutes. A few minutes! He is brilliant. I bet I could teach him so much more. The only problem is he gets distracted so easily and he is always bouncing around. Always! Especially, if I have food in my hand or a toy. Its a challenge but I actually wanna teach all three dogs more tricks. They know a lot already but they can learn a lot more.

As you can see. I am surrounded by Callie and Princess when I am sleeping but I would not change it for anything. Callie likes to sleep above my head or near my feet most of the time. When she is not sleeping she is causing some sort of trouble. As for Princess, she sleeps next to me on her pillow. Yes, she has a pillow. Well, its mine but since I only need one I let her use the it. If she is not next to me I am holding her in my arms. She is my best sleeping medicine. Except, she sleeps on the floor when its warm because she starts making her clucking noise. Yes, a clucking noise. I will have to record it one day. Anyways, arent they cute together? Callie enjoys being around the dogs and I am glad Princess tolerates her.

I know you all want to know which photo I chose to enter in the photo contest. Do not worry. I am planning on sharing the results with you soon. I am just as excited as you are. Hehe! Until then I hope you have wonderful plans for the weekend and have fun. It is suppose to rain all weekend here so I might not do much. Maybe, I will record some videos and write a few short blog posts. Keep checking back because the chosen photo will be up soon! Peace out.

So, here are 10 photos. Yes, 1o! Sorry, I could not get the list any smaller since I love them all. Hehe. Anyways, I would like to know which ones are your favorite, that can win the contest and why. Here we go…

Self Portraits

We All Have Our Scars

I got inspired to do this post from a great song called Scars by Allison Iraheta. The song is about how she tries to be what the guy wants but she has faults like everyone else. He keeps trying to make her perfect or find someone who is perfect. This is one of the things I do not like about our society and culture. Trying to form someone or yourself into the thing called “perfect”. There is not a person who is perfect in this world. We all make mistakes and we all have our faults. Its human nature. Like it or not.

I witness it in and out of school. People not liking someone because of faults. For example, I know a few teenagers who do not like someone just because of their looks. Their looks! If you are going to hate someone because they do not fit your picture of good looking then that is just wrong. Most people (including me) when they look at themselves in the mirror they do not like what they see. I could point out hundreds of things I would change about my looks and body but we forget where the true beauty is. The true beauty is inside of us.

Here are some of my faults and flaws: Short. Not skinny. Bad at math. Depression. Attachment problems. Hiding my feelings and thoughts. Being unique. Adopted. Love to eat. Doing stupid stuff without thinking. Crying. Being me. Not being a girly girl. Ugly. Dog Lover. Quiet. Loud. Etc… You are all probably thinking I am crazy for writing most of those as some of my faults. I do know though there are people out there who would put me down for a lot of the stuff that I listed. It has happened but I am not going to change to get into the “perfect” category. I do know that there are people who love me for most of the stuff on that list and that is what gives me strength to help me continue to be me.

Oh, I forgot! There are perfect people. Do you know who? The people who accept their faults, other people’s faults and live as themselves without changing. Dont let people who are negative about your faults bring you down. Just laugh. Why? Because those people have just as many faults as you do. Let me tell you something. If you think life would be better if you were perfect with no faults you are kidding yourself. Life would be boring. No goals. No lessons to learn. So, enjoy being imperfect because that is what makes you unique and special.
