Water bottles…I drink a lot of water!

Lake Wallkill

Take a jump into the deep end

Its been really hot here for the past couple of days. I been drinking lots of water and keeping my air conditioner on most of the time. Its suppose to cool down though. Since its so hot I thought I would share some lake photos I took awhile ago of kids jumping off the diving board.

Four boys standing on the diving board.

Hard and tiresome swim in the deep end of the lake.

Take a jump into the lake on his little board.

That sure takes some skill to do a trick like that off a diving board.

It looks like she is walking on water.

Did you know I haven’t gone swimming once in the lake this year? Its not that I don’t like swimming. I do very much but I have to be in a swimming mood for me to go in to the water. My favorite places to swim are lakes and oceans. Pools are okay but I am not the biggest fan of them. So, instead of swimming I took photos of people enjoying the lake this summer. Hope these photos make you feel like you are there. Question: Where is your favorite place to swim?

Birds of the Pond

The weather was gorgeous today. Sun shining high with not one cloud in the sky. I knew I wanted to take some photos today. So, I took my new camera backpack I got for Christmas and rode my bicycle to a nice park near me. I rode up to the pond and their were birds everywhere on the ice covered water. Glad I brought my macro lens with me to get some good photos of these great winged creatures.

Birds can be really hard to capture in a photograph at times. Especially, when they are flying at the speeds they do. I took around eighty photos of geese and seagulls but these are the only ones I felt were the best. It was a good challenge and will do it again soon.

Portraits Reflections

Kids of the River

I am doing pretty well this year in school. Got all my homework done so far. Woot. I hate homework but I need to do well this year. It is my last year to do the best I can and succeed. For English I had to write a college essay about what makes me unique. Guess what I wrote about. Just Guess. Okay okay I will tell you. I wrote about my interest in photography and how I look at the world differently with a camera in my hand. Yup yup. It was not hard for me since its a big passion to me and I write about it everyday here. Goal for the year. To get good grades and be happy with myself at the end of senior year knowing I tried my hardest.

So what do you think of these two photos? I thought they were pretty cool. Neat reflections. These kids were actually swimming in the river when I was walking by but did not get any photos of them in the water. When I saw them standing near the edge of the river and the nice reflections I knew I had to get some photos. I would actually like to start doing more people portraits. So many interesting people out there with great personalities that show in photographs. Wanna be my models? I think I am going to practice with my friends and neighbors. They will be a good start. Please comment and critique these photos. Thanks.

Anyways, the day went by and it was not too bad. No big drama. Just regular teen talk. Also, gave my dogs flea baths to get rid of those annoying pests on them. Poor pooches just scratch scratch scratch. Hopefully, it will help them. It better! Ah, time to relax and listen to some good music. Surf the net some and just chit chat for a little til I get sleepy. Hope you all had a nice Wednesday. Stay warm and happy. Peace.
