Lake Wallkill

Take a jump into the deep end

Its been really hot here for the past couple of days. I been drinking lots of water and keeping my air conditioner on most of the time. Its suppose to cool down though. Since its so hot I thought I would share some lake photos I took awhile ago of kids jumping off the diving board.

Four boys standing on the diving board.

Hard and tiresome swim in the deep end of the lake.

Take a jump into the lake on his little board.

That sure takes some skill to do a trick like that off a diving board.

It looks like she is walking on water.

Did you know I haven’t gone swimming once in the lake this year? Its not that I don’t like swimming. I do very much but I have to be in a swimming mood for me to go in to the water. My favorite places to swim are lakes and oceans. Pools are okay but I am not the biggest fan of them. So, instead of swimming I took photos of people enjoying the lake this summer. Hope these photos make you feel like you are there. Question: Where is your favorite place to swim?

Life in a day

Today, July 24th is Life In A Day day on youtube. A day where people all around the world record a day in their life. Showing how they live and what they experience. I think its a brilliant idea. The guy who is running this is making a documentary with some of the footage. He will pick footage that will go into his documentary. Imagine going through all the videos uploaded from hundreds of users? Thats a lot of work! But I did enter some videos for fun.

Do you ever have a picture in your head of how you expect something to come out when its done? Well, I did but my video didnt come out as I expected. Its an alright video but not as good as I would of liked. I participated at least. I could of said screw it and gave up but I stuck to it and accomplished the challenge. To see the other videos I entered check out my youtube channel. So did anyone of you participate?

Fourth of July Parade

Yesterday marked the hundredth year of celebration of fourth of July in my town. That is why we had the parade yesterday instead of the actual day. I accomplished my assignment and I am very proud of myself. I set my alarm to wake up, got up and ready, grabbed my camera and walked over to where the parade would be. It was in the high ninety’s and the sun was shining high but it was worth it. Even though it was boiling out people still had great spirit for the holiday. I took over three hundred photos of the parade and kept around a hundred of them. Here are a few of them. Enjoy the parade!

A Hot Country Weekend

So, my mom, the three dogs and I spent the weekend up at the cabin for the first time this year. Lets say it did not start off the way we hoped. Since we do not go up during the winter we turn off the water. When my mom turned the water back on the water heater was pouring out all over the floor. Stuff was getting soaked and the dogs were trying to drink it. It was a hectic but thank goodness for a helpful neighbor who knew how to fix the problem.

Arts Tattoos

I Got A Tattoo!

Why did I get this tattoo on my right arm? Because I love horses and wings make the horse ten times cooler. Arent the colors awesome?! They just pop right out at you. You just want to touch it!

So what do you think of my tattoo? I know there are people who do not like tattoos but I love them. They are art on the body. Just beautiful and awesome! Tattoos represent a person. They can explain a persons life experiences. I have a lot of ideas for future tattoos that I would like to get…if I can handle the pain. Tattoos here I come!

Dog Day Saturday

I spent my Saturday at the dog park with Princess and Oliver because the weather was too good to waste inside. Plus, we were all getting cabin fever from the winter. I brought my camera with me but I did not take many photos but I did capture some good shots. In the above photo Princess was playing with the pugs. The dog park is always popular with pugs.

The pugs liked Princess today. Especially, one of them. He followed her around and sat with her. it was cute. Except, Oliver was not fond of him. He never seems to really like pugs.

Thought this was a pretty neat photo. Almost looks like the dog was going to run into Princess. I dont recommend it because she is one sturdy dog that can not be pushed down.

It looks like Princess has no feet on the ground. She was trying to get over the pug. Acrobat dog.

Oliver was challenged by this dog but Oliver did not want to play with him.

Oliver played around with this adorable schnauzer for a little while. They played well together.

Now, there is a dog park face. Happy to be there. A very cute dog and I love the bandana!

So, we had a blast today at the dog park. Lady did not come with us because she has attitude with other dogs and does not know how to play right. She prefers to be home anyways. I bet Oliver and Princess will sleep well tonight!

Selective Color

Colors of Crayons

I decided to try more selective color photos. The first one I did there was not enough color in the photo to make it a good selective color. So, I took my big container of crayons out and created some good shots. My room smelled like crayons for about a day but it was well worth it.

What do you think? I am proud on the outcome and I have to thank my mother for the idea. THANKS MOM! Hope, everyone is enjoying their Saturday and do not forget to have fun before it is gone!

Remembering 2009

Its time to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010. Even though 2009 is coming to a close there are events that will never be forgotten. Every year has its ups and downs but its the up parts that are worth remembering. I thought I would share and refresh your memory of some of the grand events of the year of 2009.

One memory of 2009 is turning 18 years old. The one age all teenagers seem to be so excited for. Why? I have a few ideas. It is considered the age of maturity and being a grown up. Except one thing. Age is just a number and it is not who you are. Another reason is because it is the legal age that we teens can move out from our parents and be free. I told myself I would end up doing that when I am 18 but did not happen and I have no regrets. Living on your own at such a young age is way too hard so I am thankful to be with my mom.

Another memory which was very exciting was becoming a senior in high school. The last year of school I have to do. Unless I decide to go to college or something but its the last I got to be stuck in torture. That leads to the main reason why I am excited for 2010. Graduation!!!

There is one memory that is my all time favorite of 2009. Do you think you know what it is? If you have read my blog for a long time you should know or maybe know. It has to be Callie. Having her part of the family is the greatest memory of the year. She is full of life and just a joy to have. I am glad I fell in love with her and scooped her up into my arms.

I hope you all have a lovely and fun new year and make a lot of great memories in 2010. Celebrate and shoot those fireworks high in the sky. Bye bye 2009 and hello 2010!

Hold On To Time

Running and jumping on the playground at my elementary school is a memory that seemed to happen just yesterday. I started out as a Kindergartner there and now I am senior in the high school. It makes me realize how time can go so fast and the memories that you keep. My favorite memory from being in the elementary school is the parent visit day in 5th grade. My mom came in my class and was sitting next to me when she said we are going to visit this dog up for adoption. I can still feel the big grin I made on my face that day and it is an unforgettable memory since the dog she told me about became part of my family and Mills will never be forgotten.

Time flies by and memories are made, but I am going to recommend trying to hold on to time as long as possible. Dont just let it pass. Endure it. Do something before you lose the time to make memories. Memories are important to have to make us alive and to share with friends and family. You might regret not using the time right in the past, but do everything you can now that will make good memories for you.
