Kids of the River

I am doing pretty well this year in school. Got all my homework done so far. Woot. I hate homework but I need to do well this year. It is my last year to do the best I can and succeed. For English I had to write a college essay about what makes me unique. Guess what I wrote about. Just Guess. Okay okay I will tell you. I wrote about my interest in photography and how I look at the world differently with a camera in my hand. Yup yup. It was not hard for me since its a big passion to me and I write about it everyday here. Goal for the year. To get good grades and be happy with myself at the end of senior year knowing I tried my hardest.

So what do you think of these two photos? I thought they were pretty cool. Neat reflections. These kids were actually swimming in the river when I was walking by but did not get any photos of them in the water. When I saw them standing near the edge of the river and the nice reflections I knew I had to get some photos. I would actually like to start doing more people portraits. So many interesting people out there with great personalities that show in photographs. Wanna be my models? I think I am going to practice with my friends and neighbors. They will be a good start. Anyways, the day went by and it was not too bad. No big drama. Just regular teen talk. Also, gave my dogs flea baths to get rid of those annoying pests on them. Poor pooches just scratch scratch scratch. Hopefully, it will help them. It better! Ah, time to relax and listen to some good music. Pals for Life

Ah, Oliver and Callie love each other. They are always wresting and just enjoy each others company. Who knew they would get along so well. Callie use to be scared of Oliver because all he wanted to do was play. After a while Callie became brave and realized he would make a perfect play mate. Now, she jumps all over him. Its so cute.

Arent they cute? They just play play play. Maybe nap a little but then they are playing again. I am so happy they get a long and Princess is glad Oliver has a new playmate. Now she can enjoy not being chewed on all the time. Well, sometimes Callie chews on her too but she deals with it. Here is a video I recorded of Oliver and Callie playing. So cute!

Sorry, I am posting so late. I had to write a seven page history paper on television that is due tomorrow. Well, it turned out to be four pages but I tried. It came out alright. I will see what the teacher thinks about it and I will do better on my next paper knowing what he expects and all. Overall, my day has been good. No school. Yay. Oh well I am going to relax and go to bed soon because I need to wake up early for school. Blah. I hope you all had a good Monday and enjoy the pictures and video I posted of Oliver and Callie. School Night

Oliver_Cabin_09Tonight was back to school night at my school. My mom went and enjoyed it. She met my teachers for the year that I have. When she got home she said she thinks I have pretty good upbeat teachers which is great for me because I do not do good with blah teachers.  Most of my teachers this year are men which is funny because last year it was all women. I am enjoying the classes I am taking this year. Especially, since I do not have to take a math class. I hate math and I sure suck at it also. So, overall its been a good year so far. Just going slow and I cant wait to graduate and be done with this school thing. Unless, I decide I want to go to college.I can be pretty smart and intelligent so I might want to go to college but I am not sure yet. I will have to see where my life takes me and where I take my life.

Aww, look its cute little Oliver! I love him but really how could anyone hate this boy? He is the cutest dog in the world. At least in my opinion and I know my mom agrees. He is my happy pill and can always make me laugh. No matter how upset I am he can always put a smile on my face. He just is such a happy little dog who loves to be curious and spunky. So, anyways what do you think of the photo? Like? Dislike? I like the lighting and composition of this photo. Oliver was very comfortable as you can see in the photo.

I am so happy that it is almost Friday. This week went really slow. I do not know why but I just want it to be over. Well, I need to finish some homework and relax until I go to sleep. What can I say I love the night. I am a night owl. Good thing is I am not being crazy about staying up really late because I have school so I have been going to bed at a good time. So, then I can wake up by seven to get myself out the door for school. Play that music. Peace.

Weekend Adventures

baby_mouseSo, this weekend I went up to the cabin with my mother and my dogs. It started out like any normal weekend up at the cabin. Just hanging out. Then Princess discovered something. She was in her hunting mode. Kept sniffing and making little woofs. Then I opened the cabinet and look what i discovered. Baby mice! They were definitely just  born with their eyes still sealed shut. I am not sure how many are in there because there is a lot of fluff in there for a mouse nest. It was pretty freaky at first because I did not think I would really find anything and then you open a cabinet and find naked little mice. Just a shocker.

PrincessPrincess pretty much guarded the cabinet the whole time while we were there. She so badly wanted to get in there. The baby mice kept making little chirps during the day and night. It was pretty cool to hear them. They were probably calling momma mouse for food. Is momma alive? Oh yes I saw her. I opened the cabinet before I went to bed to see them and I saw momma run to the back and hide. So momma is around and taking good care of her babies. That makes me happy that they will be alright.

dinnerAll that action in the afternoon made me hungry. So, last night for dinner my mom and I went to a Chinese Japanese restaurant near our cabin. I love food! Anyways, I had a chicken teriyaki dinner box. It is what I always eat when I go there.  It is sooooo yummy! These california rolls came with it and I sure gobbled them down. I ate the whole box of food and I was stuffed when I was done. It was a nice yummy dinner with my mom. Ginger! Confused about that? Do not worry about it. It is an inside joke with my mom.

princesshaircutSo, if you did not know my dogs are infested with fleas. Ew right? Disgusting and annoying. So, before I gave Princess a flea bath I shaved Princess down today. It makes it easier to get all the fleas off her. Lets just say Princess was not very happy about it. She wanted to just escape and hide. Princess is such a patient girl. Did you know Princess had this almost exact same haircut when we adopted her? Yes, those eyes are what grabbed my moms heart when she saw Princess on petfinder. Princess seems to be feeling better after her flea bath I gave her. Lady is next on the list to groom. She will be a pain. Do not worry Lady I love you.

princesshuntkitchenPrincess is a such a hunter. Before we headed home she discovered that a mouse lives in this cabinet in the kitchen. She wanted to get it so badly. So, she kept sniffing and scratching at the cabinet to try to get in. Sorry Princess I rather you not get bit by a mouse. But, thanks for discovering more mice for us. These mice are lucky that my mother and I love animals or these little rodents would be dead.

So, I hope you enjoyed my adventures I had this weekend. I sure did. Pretty fun and exciting. I cant believe school is tomorrow. Someone make the weekend longer. Ugh. Alright I will go and survive. Anyways, I am going to relax and listen to some music. Surf the net a little and just enjoy the night before its gone. Then tomorrow is school which means time to party it up. Lady come back!

Tree_Stump_MushroomsWhat a lovely Sunday it has been. Sunshine and warmth. You all know what I like to do in that kind of weather. Photography and some good outdoor exercise. So, I took Princess and my camera on a walk today through the park. We did not do sixteen miles like last time but we went pretty far. Took some photos and actually kept most of them. I can be really picky when it comes to picking my photos to keep. If I take a hundred photos I can end up keeping only five to ten of them. It really depends what I capture and if it comes out clear and stunning.

Lady. The sneaky escape artist of the pack. So, around six or seven tonight I was up in my room and I hear my mom yelling Lady Lady Lady! She usually steals things from the kitchen but did not hear any words that sound like she stole something. So, I rushed downstairs and I went to the backyard and my mom was rushing around saying Lady escaped the yard. So I jumped my backyard fence to figure out which way she went. Then my mom comes around and saw her in our backyard neighbors backyard so she grabbed her.  Good thing she did not get far.

The reason Lady escaped. Alright, so our neighborhood is filled with kids and mostly little boys who love to run around. So, the big game of the neighborhood is manhunt. I am not explaining the game but lets just say it has to do with running all over the place. Boys love going through our yard to get to another street faster. The problem with that is we have fencing up to keep the dogs in the yard. Well, the boys broke through some rope that kept part of the fence closed. Big problem is Lady is really good at finding escape routes. So, she found the broken rope and escaped. Boys stay out.

Let me share something with you all. As you all know my dogs are my world. They are my happiness and I love them to bits. If my dogs ever escape and get seriously hurt or killed because of kids who do not listen I am seriously going to sue. Do not mess with me and my dogs. I will raise hell. I am telling you if I catch some of these boys in my yard again I am going to give them a serious talk. Then they can go crying home and tell their parents why I was mean to them. Their parents can come to me and be upset but I am not going to let these kids put my dogs at risk of getting hurt. I know that sounds harsh but that is how I am when it comes to my dogs.

Moving on. I love walking through the park. It is very shaded with woods surrounding the path with a river on one side. While walking I came across this tree trunk that had awesome mushrooms growing on it. Just had to take a photo of it. I could not resist. What do you think the photo? Like it? Dislike it?

Oh, please tell me tomorrow is not Monday already. Ugh, hope the night does not zoom by. I am going to enjoy every minute of tonight before I have to go to school tomorrow. Lets see what shall I do. I am going to listen to some music. Maybe, add more songs to my ipod. Also, I am going to surf the internet and read some news. Then pass out in a few hours. Almost Friday

Princess_CallieI am very happy that it is almost Friday. I got a half day tomorrow which I am very excited about. Yippy! Also, then it is Labor Day weekend which means I got a three day weekend. So happy about that. Labor Day weekend is just around the corner.

School stinks. Its alright but just lame. School is lame lame lame. I will survive it at least since it is my senior year. Crazy senior year. Lots of fun. Lots of craziness. Lots of thinking about getting out in to the big big world. Dun dun dun. Anyways, I am going to hike through this senior year and graduate. Then I will see what the future brings me. What direction I want to go in life. What a gal like me could succeed at. Lots of thinking but can not overwhelm myself with the thought of college and future. My main goal is to graduate.

Its a photo of Callie and Princess! Aww, look how cute they are together. Callie likes to grab Princess’ hair and Princess is not a big fan of that so she growls a little bit but she does not snap because she is a love. Princess knows how to tolerate annoying siblings because she deals with Oliver everyday. By the way I forgot to update you all about Callie’s foot. She is not limping anymore and is enjoying her life to the fullest. Just jumping around and playing. Always loves to play. Great source of entertainment right here in my room.

Anways, I am going to listen to some music and hit the sack. My body will probably crash in a little while because I need to get up at six again for school. Woohoo. NOT! Well, at least it will be Friday. I will talk to you all soon and hope you all had a nice week and a good Friday. Peace

Woof Wednesday

LadyI found out today is a special day for all dogs. While surfing the net in the morning I came across a post. It said National Dog Day. I was like oh my gosh today is national dog day and I did not know? Where have I been? Miss dog lover here and I did not know this. Wake up Anna! So, to all dogs out there, happy national dog day.

Update on my camera. My mom stopped by the store on the way home to see if any progress of getting it back soon was any possibility. She is such a great mother. She made the guy call Nikon and would not leave til he did. They said they finally shipped it out back to the store so hopefully they will get it back one of these days. Which means when they get it back if Nikon did not fix it for them their guy will have to. Sad thing is this guy who fixes the cameras is not there everyday. I hope I get my camera back soon. I am missing my Nikon. I am having separation anxiety from it. My poor Nikon is probably feeling the same way without me. Don’t worry my Nikon you soon will be back in my hands where you belong.

Callie update. Well, Callie is still limping but seems like she is putting a little more weight on the foot now. I am hoping it is not just me wishing and seeing things. If it does not improve more in a couple of days she is going to the vet to make sure nothing is too hurt. My poor little gal. She still loves to be a kitty and play. Loves to keep me up at night with her toys jingling around and jumping on my bed. What a character she is. My little tortie girl.

Its a photo of Lady. My photogenic girl. She is such a beauty. Since its national dog day I just had to put a photo of one of my dogs. I brought her out front and sat her infront of some black eyed susands and just got a shot of her with my camera phone. It came out pretty nice. What do you think?

Anwyays, I am going to enjoy the night. Going to blast some good tunes, chew gum, write poetry, surf the net and talk to peeps. Me and Oliver

Anna_OliverWhat do I have to share with you all today? Hmm….not much. Nothing really happened today. Same old same old. Just enjoying the last week before school and exploring my imac. I want to learn how to do everything on it. Mac gal for life. Macs are the best and no one can change me of that. Once you go mac you never go back! I can say that a hundred times or more.

I am working on some videos for youtube. Probably going to record my first one tonight from my built in camera on my imac and I will upload it to youtube. Video gal. Love making videos. Still do not have my nikon back! Grr! WTF! Seriously, they better get it back to me or I will go in there and make them sorry. They will never get good reviews from me. Why should they. All they do is not care. Do not mess with a girl like me. I do not act nicely when you mess with my important possessions of my life. No more miss nice gal! I am going mad without my camera.

Moving on, I need to calm down or I am going to smash something into little pieces.  Anyways, isnt the photo cute??? Its me and Oliver! Aww, he is so adorable! Look at my baby boy. I love him so much. He can make me laugh even when I am in the worst mood. You just cant be mad at him.

So, I am going to start my poetry with you all and other just little posts throughout the day of my thoughts and feelings about things. It will be more interactive and alive on this blog. I am going to do my usual night routine and just have fun. Peace out.

Dog Crazy

Lady_AnnaAlright, I need to make something clear to you all out there. I am still a dog lover. Even though I may have a kitten now. Dogs are still number one in my life. I will always be a dog person. Maybe sometimes a crazy dog person. Sorry I will never be a crazy cat person. I will never walk into a store and say I want every cat. Callie is special. She could be the only cat I will ever own and have in my life. Dogs come first and always will. Dog crazy gal.

Oh my goodness, today is the last day that I am seventeen! Yes, tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday! Wow. A nice easy last day of being seventeen. What am I doing for my birthday? Well, in the morning we are taking Callie for her very first vet appointment. Woohoo! It will be interesting to see what the vet says about little Callie girl. Aftter that I am going to the Apple store to choose a Macbook Pro or an iMac. I am excited. I like the Macbook Pro because its portable. Thing is I like the iMac because it has a nice big screen. I will see and choose tomorrow.

I took this photo a long time ago. It is Lady and I. It is not the clearest but I love the emotion and character this photo has. Lady is such a goofy girl. What do you think of it.

Anyways, I do hope you all had a nice Friday. So, I am going to listen to some music and maybe groove to it a little bit. Also, I am going to surf the net on some of my favorite sites and talk to my peeps all around the world. Peace.

Puppy Mill Pups

sleepingpetstorepupAren’t these puppies so cute in these photos? I will agree yes they are. But, before you say you want to buy one let me tell you something. I took these two photos of these cute puppies in a pet store. If you have never been told to not buy from a pet store I will tell you now. Please, do not buy from a pet store. Wanna know why? I will gladly tell you. If you do not already know the puppies in pet stores come from puppy mills.

Puppy mills are places where irresponsible people keep dogs in crowded dirty conditions where the poor female dogs just give birth over and over again. These dogs live a horrible life with not a lot of movement and little to no socialization. When the female dog cant breed anymore the puppy mill owners will leave her to die or just kill her. Puppy mill owners have no care for the life of the dogs they have. All they care about is getting the puppies that earn them money.

Also, let me share something. These puppies come from dirty unclean living areas. The parents do not go to the vet which means these dogs pass down diseases over and over again. You hear stories about people buying a puppy from a pet store and they end up spending thousands of dollars on a sick dog who may recover, who will have to live with the illness its whole life or the puppy dies.

twopetstorepupssleepingOne other thing is. If you buy from a pet store you are supporting puppy mills. Oh, one puppy wont make a difference in business. Let me tell you. One puppy sold tells the puppy mill owner that he is being successful and those poor dogs continue to live in that condition. Lets not support puppy mills. Instead we need to help stop them. Next time you go into a pet store just look and tell yourself that you are helping dogs by not buying a puppy from there. That is what I tell myself when I go into one. We all need to help the dogs and puppies who live sad unhealthy lives. Together we will bring an end to puppy mills and stop the pain these dogs live in.

Anyways, moving on to something exciting. It is almost Friday! Woohoo! The weekend is almost here. Be excited. We all love weekends. Ha, Callie is being a little crazy kitten running around. Jumping on to the bed and grabbing my feet and then jumping off. Callie loves to cause trouble but that is a kitten for you. Well, I am going to listen to some good music and relax. Chillax. Peace.
