Doggie Dogwood

Trees are so magnificent. Tall, strong and beautiful all at the same time. This earth would not be the same without them. I like trees but let me tell you my mom loves trees. She could never live in a place with no trees. I think she would go crazy. Hehe. What is your favorite type of tree? Mine are dogwood trees but weeping willows are right behind. The photo above is the dogwood tree in our front yard. As you can see it blooms wonderful pink flowers in the spring time. I guess dogwoods are also my favorite because look what word it has in it. Dog!

Oh, did I tell you I taught Oliver a new trick?! Well, I did. Guess which one. Rollover. He is so smart! Let me tell you. It only took me, with pupperoni in my hand and a happy attitude to get him to accomplish it. He learned it in just a few minutes. A few minutes! He is brilliant. I bet I could teach him so much more. The only problem is he gets distracted so easily and he is always bouncing around. Always! Especially, if I have food in my hand or a toy. Its a challenge but I actually wanna teach all three dogs more tricks. They know a lot already but they can learn a lot more.

As you can see. I am surrounded by Callie and Princess when I am sleeping but I would not change it for anything. Callie likes to sleep above my head or near my feet most of the time. When she is not sleeping she is causing some sort of trouble. As for Princess, she sleeps next to me on her pillow. Yes, she has a pillow. Well, its mine but since I only need one I let her use the it. If she is not next to me I am holding her in my arms. She is my best sleeping medicine. Except, she sleeps on the floor when its warm because she starts making her clucking noise. Yes, a clucking noise. I will have to record it one day. Anyways, arent they cute together? Callie enjoys being around the dogs and I am glad Princess tolerates her.

I know you all want to know which photo I chose to enter in the photo contest. Do not worry. I am planning on sharing the results with you soon. I am just as excited as you are. Hehe! Until then I hope you have wonderful plans for the weekend and have fun. It is suppose to rain all weekend here so I might not do much. Maybe, I will record some videos and write a few short blog posts. Keep checking back because the chosen photo will be up soon! Peace out.

Wordy Weekend

Its been a nice weekend full of art. Saturday, my mom and I went up to New York state to see my mom’s friend’s art show gallery. Some of you might recognize the project from the kickstarter project that I spread around awhile back. She got over her goal amount which is so great because now she can publish the book that has her art in it. What is her art? She creates little characters and scenes that represent definitions of words. Words that do not seem real but are. She is brilliant!

Here is a picture of my mom and Polly M. Law who is the artist. They have been friends for many years. No wonder they are friends! They are both talented artists living in the tough world. So, it was great seeing her art up on the wall. She has been through so much and can be a true inspiration for many who are struggling. Do not give up on what your passionate about. She has not and she continues to do what she loves.

I love to touch…

I know the ipad is the big thing lately but a few weeks ago I got my ipod touch (itouch) and I love it. Its a perfect size for a funsize girl. Plus, its a touch screen. Oh my gosh! Perfect. Literally I have a disease. A touching disease. I always seem to have to be touching something. Get your mind out of that gutter! When I go into stores I always touch everything on the shelves. Its totally bizarre! I will have to figure out the disease name…Touchiez.

Anyways, I love my itouch! I do. My funsize touch screen computer. It plays my wide variety of music, has cool games like Solitaire on it and I can check my social sites on it. What is there not to love! I am still working on adding more songs to it because it only has two hundred and my other ipod has over a thousand. Yes, I am a big music freak! So, now you met my new electronic family member. Hope you all had a nice Monday and I hope to talk to you all soon.

Spring Break

Today was the first day of my Spring break. My last Spring break I will ever have! Wow. How am I going to spend it? Well, taking lots of photographs. Of what? Hmm. Well, my dogs of course and plants that are coming alive. I would also like to record lots of videos with my video camera of my opinions about certain subjects and whatever else sparks my mind. The weather is suppose to be wonderful so I will have to go on one of my long bicycle rides I love to do. My plan for this break is just to have fun because there are no more long breaks before I graduate in June. Its not that far off! So time to enjoy my Spring break before it is gone.

Power out. Power on!

We had a huge storm all Saturday that consisted of lots of rain and really bad wind.  Branches falling and trees coming down in certain areas. Mom and I did not leave the house in that weather. The lights were flickering all day long and I was so hoping that we would not lose power. My hoping did not work. Around seven-thirty at night the power went out. Which is not unusual with storms here but it does usually come back on in a few hours. Except when I woke up in the morning it was still off. The thing is it was not just our neighborhood who lost power. About everyone in our county lost it. Now that’s a lot of people! I was not so thrilled when my mom told me it might not be fixed until Tuesday but Sunday turned out to be a fun day. I had good bonding time with my mom. My mom and I drove around seeing the trees down and we ate dinner by candle light. We talked all day long so it was well worth losing the power. It takes you out of your usual routine which can be pretty nice and relaxing. The power did come back on Sunday night around eleven. It was fun when it lasted but it is great to have the power back on.

My Jamboree Mom

Every year my high school puts on a show to raise money for scholarships. Since, I am a senior this year it was the last chance for my mom to participate in it and she decided to take the challenge. My mom did a great job and she had a blast. I am glad she got involved and enjoyed the dancing even though it was tiring at times. One of the songs she danced to was Wanna Be Starting Something by Michael Jackson and I recorded it. Well, I recorded all the songs she was in but here is one of them. Enjoy my grooving mother.

Sleeping Family

Every night Lady and Oliver sleep on moms bed with her and Princess sleeps with me in my bed. I think its so adorable how Oliver curls up with my mom. They two are bonded like glue. I walked into my moms room yesterday and this is how they were sleeping. My mom wasnt happy about me taking a photo but I could not resist. Isnt it so cute?!

Back To School But Not For Long

Walking in to the school all cold and sleepy I really did not dread going back too much, surprisingly! Yes, of course I would of been just as happy staying curled up in bed and sleeping for a few more hours but school is something I must do and finish. Realizing that 2010 is the year I graduate and I am out forever makes me want to just go and get through it. Before I know it I will be out. Woohoo!

Killing the Fleas

PrincessBathtime_09Oh boy! The new flea shampoo came together. My mom and I were excited but the dogs were not. They looked at us with “oh no” eyes. First, my mom bathed the boy of the family. Oliver. He came bounding out after the bath and jumped all over the place. He is such a character. Can always make you laugh. After Oliver was out I took Princess in. She stood there with her big eyes. Just staring at me. It didnt stop me from soaking her with water and putting shampoo all over her. I just did not look at her eyes. Cool thing was, I saw fleas fall off her. They dropped off dead. So, I think if we bathe all three dogs a few times and clean everything. Eventually all the fleas will be gone. Hopefully. Die fleas. Die!

Lovely weather again today. School was fine. I dont know if I learned something. I must have. Just dont remember. Ha. Anyways, I am going to surf the net for a little and see what music I will discover. I hope you all had an okay Monday. Maybe learned something new. Have a lovely night and an enjoyable Tuesday. Peace.
