Christmas

A calm Christmas

I know I am writing this post kind of late but I have been lazy with my photography editing. Anyways, I had a nice Christmas day with my mom at home. We didnt bring Grandma over this year because she isnt as strong as she use to be. But my mom and I did go see her Christmas day for a little bit. She is always happy to see us even though she may not remember later on.

I bought my mom three gifts this year and she loved them all. First, I got her an Italian bowl that I found in one of my favorite antique stores because she collections Italian ceramics. Good thing I know my mom’s taste in ceramics. Second gift I got her was an Italian phrases calendar. By the end of 2011 she will be talking full blown Italian. The last gift I got my mom was a zebra pattern snuggie. Hehe. Doesnt she look nice and cozy in it?

I enjoyed everything my mother got me also. She got me all different car accessories that are good to have in the car at any time. Safety first right? Right! She also got me a gift certificate to Dunkin Donuts and Kohls. Plus, she got me other little nick knacks. Thanks mom!

When my mom and I got home we cooked a Christmas dinner. We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and gravy. Let me tell you we werent the only one who enjoyed the food. As you can see Lady got some gravy all over her face. At least she is happy about it. I am amazed Princess or Oliver didnt try to lick it off her. What a dirty girl she is!

Christmas coming quick

Yup, that beautiful time of year is here again. Christmas music blasting on the radio and non stop caroling on commercials brings it to reality. I am not complaining because Christmas is my favorite holiday. I enjoy driving home in the dark and seeing all the wonderful Christmas lights shining. It just opens my eyes that this fulfilled year is coming to an end. Brings back all the memories of the year that were great.

I have done most of my Christmas shopping but still have to get a few more items. Thats right, I am Santa Anna. Ho ho ho! Keep it on the low, but I still have to get gifts for my pack. Maybe some special treats and toys. They arent really picky. Even kisses and hugs they will enjoy.

This is our Christmas card that I created in photoshop. Isnt it great? The main photo is of my girl, Princess being in the Christmas spirit. The photo was actually taken for my photography class when I was in school but it makes a perfect Christmas card. I love my family and wouldnt give it up for anything. We are perfect.

A fun birthday Saturday

The best woman in the world had a birthday yesterday and we had a great day celebrating it. Thats right, it was my mother’s birthday and she turned fifty ten. Do you get it? If not you will at the end of the post. Anyways, my mom and I went to Ocean Grove for the day. It is a lovely seaside resort with magnificent Victorian architecture. Every house is different and unique in its own way. The shops are cute and the peopleĀ  are very friendly. My mom would love to move there. I better start saving up. Hehe.

We walked to the beach even though it was freezing out. Luckily, I was smart and dressed warmly instead of dressing stupidly. It seems like my mom and I go to the beach at least once every winter for some reason. It is nice there but sure cold. While we were standing on the beach we saw these two people feeding tons of seagulls and pigeons. They are lucky the birds didnt gang up on them and take the paper bags from their hands.

A few times all the birds took flight and flew over our heads. Then they would all regather near the people with the food. It was awesome but definitely not a situation to be in if you are scared of birds. The whole experience reminded me of the movie, The Birds.

After we had a great day at Ocean Grove we came home. But the celebration wasnt over yet. I wanted to get her a cake to make the day perfect. So, first I went to A&P and got a wonderful rich chocolate mousse cake but it wasnt complete yet. I looked around the store for the numbers I needed but I couldnt find them. So, then I drove to Stop & Shop and found the numbers. If you put 6 and 0 together, what do you get? Fifty ten. Happy birthday mom! Remember age is just a number. It isnt who you are.
